The Business Institute of Washington
The Business Institute of Washington works year-round to bring transparency to the political scene in Washington state through nonpartisan research and analysis.
We seek to educate the general public on the relationship between business and politics, and are able to do that through a variety of programs. Delivering transparent, nonpartisan information to the public that sheds light on the state's political process in relation to its private-sector health is a vital part of what we do.
Business Institute of Washington program areas:
- Campaign Fundraising Analysis: Campaign fundraising analysis is conducted year-round, and tracks political dollars of candidates, both incumbents and challengers, as well as special interest groups. The data helps Washingtonians better understand where candidates receive their funds from, and demonstrates how the flow of money shapes our state's political landscape. - The Business Institute of Washington's Internship Program: As we seek to educate the general public on the relationship between business and politics in WA, it is important that our youth be included in the process. Our internship program not only gives our interns hands-on access to our work as educational advocates, but it also gives our organization exposure to the youth, adding insight on how to communicate our educational messages to students in communities all around the state. - Media and Community Outreach & Public Affairs: By working with local chambers of commerce, local media outlets and other community organizations, the Business Institute delivers important research and analysis directly into the hands of Washingtonians who will benefit the most.
